Commander of the imperial army in the Roman province of Noricum, St. Florian was also responsible for building firefighting brigades. He is credited with organizing and training an elite group of soldiers whose sole duty was to fight fires.

St. Florian’s powers are still invoked for protection by firefighters, EMT workers, chimneysweeps, and families seeking safety from fire and drowning.

Overwhelming devotion to the divine protection of this revered saint inspires the St. Florian: Protector of Firefighters Cold-cast Bronze Sculpture from The Bradford Exchange.

Heroically sized at 14 inches high, this commanding sculpture is expertly hand-crafted of burnished, cold-cast bronze. The gallant soldier and firefighter-turned-saint forever vanquishes the flames of danger and fear as he plants his protective flag of faith. Hand-painting and burnishing bring out the movement and drama of this exceptionally conceived sculpture.

Below, St. Florian’s cross boldly displays symbols and words dear to fire and rescue workers. A mahogany-finished base with golden title plaque makes for a gallery-quality presentation—at a fraction of the cost of traditional bronze.

Measures 14" (35.5 cm).
